Networking Event: August 20, 2008

Networking Event

Join us for a special event focused on the needs of members who have been with MPGC for five years or less (prospective members welcome!). Join us to network with other MPGC members, participate in roundtable discussions on practical gift planning issues, and gain valuable knowledge and insight.

Registration is free and space is limited to the first 50 people to respond. Reserve your spot today! Coffee, rolls, and juice will be provided.

Pat Cook (director of charitable gift planning for Minnesota Public Radio and chair of the MPGC Membership Committee) will welcome you and start the program with a brief overview of the difference between an annual, major, or campaign call and a planned giving conversation.
Katie Kuelbs (chief advancement officer with the Animal Humane Society and past president of the Minnesota Chapter of AFP) will host a discussion for professionals interested in learning how to include gift planning efforts into your many other responsibilities.
Richard Olson (director of major and planned gifts for the Allina Office of Philanthropy and chair elect of MPGC) will host a discussion on strategies for professionals interested in how to make the most of face-to-face calls with donors.
Tom Wesely (managing partner for Wesely & Wesely, CPAs) will host a discussion on tax and technical considerations to consider when gift planning. He will answer your questions from basic to the most advanced. This is a chance to get insight from one of our most accomplished experts. Tom is a CPA whose practice focuses on creation and administration of trusts and other planned gift strategies.
Rolf Thompson (director of development of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation) will give some parting remarks and offer a tour to those who are interested.
